The Daunting Process of Searching for Work

The thing that seems to be consistent across all of my clients when it comes to job seeking, is the fear of having to get out there and promote themselves. Especially if their role has been disestablished – it can seem like a soul crushing, overwhelming task, to take a risk and have to ‘sell’ yourself to strangers, friends and ex-colleagues alike.  But often once people start having conversations about what they can do, and what they are looking for in a role, it is not nearly as overwhelming as it once seemed.

As a professional CV writer, in addition to creating LinkedIn profiles and cover letter documents for my clients, I do a lot of research on what recruiters and hiring managers want, the different expectations that different markets have, and general trends in what is aesthetically pleasing. I do this by talking to my networks and contacts within recruitment (and I have quite a few), in addition to getting feedback from HR managers, talking to clients who are hiring managers, and also researching online any new and innovative global trends.
