Careers by Design is a consultancy set up by two professional career and outplacement specialists that have worked with clients across multiple levels and industries. 

With a client focused approach we specialise in creating compelling CV documents and LinkedIn profiles in addition to supporting clients with job search strategy and interview skills programmes.

Our Coaching Team

Alisa Bartholomew, Career Consultant, works with a wide range of clients on CV development, LinkedIn optimisation, job search strategy, interview skills and career planning.  With an MHSc in Mental Health Development, BA in psychology and accreditation in both the MBTI and Morrisby Profiler tools she is able to offer collaborative coaching tools and workshops that result in meaningful and tangible outcomes to clients. 

WIth a passion for writing she is highly skilled at producing professional and effective CVs for all levels of an organisation from front line staff through to executive managers and CEOs. More recently working on LinkedIn profiles she specialises in creating compelling content and optimising profiles to draw maximum attention.

Working across a broad range of industries Alisa has supported global and local organisations with workshop facilitation and coaching during times of transition, change and growth. As a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Human Resources Institute of NZ (HRINZ) and the New Zealand Institute of Directors (IoD), she actively attends networking events, seminars and learning opportunities to stay up to date with the latest industry trends.

Samara Brown, Career Consultant, is an industry professional delivering outplacement and career coaching services working with multiple organisations in the corporate, manufacturing and professional services areas. Accredited to and a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF); NZ Association of Training and Development (NZATD); Human Resources Institute of NZ (HRINZ) and Special Interest Groups in Organisational Development and Psychology, Samara is proactive in keeping abreast of industry developments.  
 
An internationally certified and trained coach through the NeuroLeadership Group Samara brings with her proven coaching methodologies supported through neuroscience research. With over 10 years in recruitment, coupled with strong commercial acumen, and coaching experience Samara is an expert in the world of work; understanding what employers look for and educating job seekers on best practice strategies, in a highly competitive employment market, including practical steps around CV development, interview skills, job search strategies and networking. She is highly adept at supporting clients across outplacement, career and performance strategies through workshops and one-on-one coaching based programmes.
